Greetings, Deanna Knauth
I am an English teacher and proof-reader in Bristol, UK.
I hope you will forgive this unexpected enquiry: I would like to know how your surname, Knauth, is typically pronounced by people in the USA.
Does it rhyme with the English word ‘out’, or is it more like ‘North’? And does it begin with an ‘n’ sound, or do you voice the ‘k’ as well?
Best wishes, and Happy Christmas.
Roland Clare
Hello Roland.
Knauth in my family is pronounced with the K -
as in Kun – out
When I talked too much in class, my teacher threatened to kick me Knauth (knowt).
Thank you for your interest. I hope this helps.
I had a great Christmas and spent it with my family. Hope you had a Happy Christmas and have a terrific New Year too. Enjoy your celebrations.
Deanna
